"In the Heart of the Antelope Country!" |
||||
| Exploring the two Upper Musselshell Museum buildings is like prowling around in someone's attic or barn. Be careful, though. You may run into a full-size replica of a dinosaur skeleton found in nearby Shawmut or a horse drawn hearse with a special passenger! There are also several collections of fossils and bones, a 2000-year-old buffalo skull and a new Plains Indian exhibit complete with arrowheads, clothing, artifacts, weapons and story boards to explain it all. The two-story sandstone buildings, constructed prior to 1909, are filled with treasures that belonged to the people who lived in, worked, and developed the Upper Musselshell River country. | ||||
While
in the Harlowton area visiting our two museums, make plans to visit the
Bair Family Museum located
just 2 miles off Highway 12 at the Martinsdale turn-off 22 miles west of
Harlowton. |
